1 in 9 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

For this reason, we're taking a stand - and a very long walk - for the fight against breast cancer.

We, Amanda and Kathey, have joined in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. May 17th to May 19th, 2002, we walked 60 miles over three days to raise awareness and money for breast cancer programs.

The Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day we will be in will take us from Fitchburg, Massachusetts to downtown Boston. We trained for the walk over a period of ten months and we will be raising a minimum of $1,900 each.

We raised over $4,200 for the Boston 2002 3-Day. Thanks to our sponsors - YOU!

The two of us, along with the other 3,943 walkers of the Boston 2002 3-Day raised a NET dollar amount of $6 million dollars for breast cancer programs.

Route Info

The first glimpse of route information was in April's Newsletter. Here is an idea of where we walked:

Day 1 - We'll leave the Royal Plaza Hotel in Fitchburg, MA and go through Leominster, Lancaster, Shirley to the first night's camp in Devens.

Day 2 - Harvard, Acton, Concord along the Battle Road Trail to the second night's camp in Lincoln/Lexington.

Day 3 - Continues through the Battle Road Trail into Boston, down Memorial Drive and finishing with the Closing Ceremonies in Boston Common.
